With all due respect, I kind of disagree with a lot of stuff on the list. Stuff like "Character Creation as Play", "Weighted Skill Pricing", "Paired Stats" etc. are what sucked the fun out of these overly complex modern RPGs, in my highly biased opinion!

You are right though, the article prompts one to think, and there is some nice discussion in the comments. Thanks for the link!
